The Last Children of Aztlán

Overview

The Last Children of Aztlán is a  walking simulator with educational elements designed to bring the story of my Mexica (Aztec) ancestors to a wider audience. The game includes features such as:

• In-game museum
• Quizzes about Aztec history
• Reward system for answering questions correctly
• Jumping mechanics
• Environment exploration

The story of the Mexica is a testament to the wonders and strength of the human spirit. With this game, you can learn how they started from nothing and ended up building one of the most impressive Empires in all of human history.

Game Jam Theme

This game aligns with the "Mi Raza" theme as the content and purpose of the game centers around Aztec culture, folklore and mythology.

Further Development

Moving forward, we would like to implement:

• Character models that resemble the Mexica peoples
  
• A more robust award system
• Making the game's terrain a replica of the Mexica's supposed path of migration from Aztlan to Tenochtitlan
• Artifacts/items planted along the migration path that coincide with historical events at specific locations (to replace quizzes)
• Adding colony simulator mechanics to emulate being a high ranking member of the Mexica tribe
